Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) seeks an experienced, energetic and collaborative executive to serve as its Vice President, Applications. This is a unique opportunity at the world’s leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health. Founded in 1863, HSS is the oldest orthopedic hospital in the United States. Its clinicians and surgeons provide specialized care to more than 200,000 patients with orthopedic or rheumatologic conditions each year, and though HSS treats most patients non-surgically, more than 35,000 surgeries are performed each year. HSS is also a pioneer in research and innovation. The HSS Research Institute comprises 20 laboratories and 300 staff members. The HSS Innovation Institute was formed in 2016 to realize the potential of new drugs, therapeutics, and devices. The Vice President, Applications, will report to the Vice President and CIO and serve as an integral member of the IT Leadership Team as well as the HSS Leadership Council. This VP will provide strategic and operational leadership for the full suite of enterprise applications and will enable a high performing team that partners strategically with stakeholders across the organization. Key initiatives for the VP, Applications, include development and operationalization of an applications roadmap and continued optimization of HSS’ EMR, ERP, and other applications. The ideal candidate for the VP, Applications role will be an experienced healthcare IT leader with a proven track record of successfully leading clinical and business applications, preferably in a complex health system which includes research components. Epic experience is required. This VP will be strategic and able to lead teams to effectively execute on plans. Relocation to the New York City area is required. The base salary for this position is $375,000 to $450,000. In addition, this VP will be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive bonus, retirement and additional benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
