Founded in 1986 Peacock has more than 35 years of experience in ISO tank container leasing. Through their own offices in Rotterdam, Singapore, Houston and agents in Shanghai, Saudi Arabia and France, Peacock serves a broad base of customers which include large petrochemical producers, oil majors and nearly all global iso tank operators. Organizational Context and Reporting line
Direct Reports: Global Operations Team consisting currently of 4 FTEs across Rotterdam, Houston, and Singapore with a growth potential to ~7 FTEs.
Organisational structure: Peacock, owned by an independent infrastructure fund, has a flat organizational structure, enabling faster and more effective decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
The Global Operations Director will assume full responsibility for global operations. This role carries accountability for operational performance, cost efficiency, and compliance.
Operational leadership across three international offices.
Management of a significant OPEX budget, approx. €0,5 million monthly.
Customer service: Management of the on‑and off‑hire process including Maintenance and Repair (M&R) with clients
Leadership and development of a multi‑site, multicultural operations team.
Vendor and contract management with key global partners with depots, class societies and surveyors
Driving digital transformation and embedding data‑driven decision‑making in daily operations.
This is a pivotal role for a leader who combines strategic vision with operational excellence including digitization and who thrives in a dynamic, international environment.
Education and Background
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
Strong technical and/or mechanical background, with a deep understanding of complex operational and logistical processes.
Preferred industry background in maritime logistics, intermodal transport, tank container leasing, asset management or industrial leasing.
Strong affinity with IT/Digitization is a must for our operational organization to grow along with the size of the fleet.
Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and foster innovation.
Experience
10 years of working experience with progressive experience in global operations leadership.
Demonstrated responsibility for OPEX budgets and operational cost optimisation.
Proven expertise in vendor management and complex long‑term contract negotiations.
Demonstrated success in leading international, multicultural teams across multiple time zones and managing change.
Proven experience in operational leadership roles, preferably in logistics, maritime, or intermodal transport.
Deep understanding of complex operational and logistical processes.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of interpreting data to drive decision‑making and process improvements.
Experience driving the digitization of operations, leveraging modern tools and platforms to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
Competencies
Strong financial and analytical acumen, with a data‑driven mindset.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging at board, client, and supplier levels.
Proficiency in data tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, APIs, cloud‑based solutions) to support operational analytics and decision‑making.
Knowledge of operational policies and compliance requirements, with the ability to review, refine, and expand policies to support business growth.
Hands‑on, proactive leader with a collaborative mindset and servant‑leadership approach.
Fluent in English and Dutch; additional languages are an advantage.
