The position
We are now looking for an experienced Cheese Trader who will be joining the company’s EMEA Cheese team and will become responsible for buying and selling industrial cheeses and cheese products. The position is based out of Hoogwegt’s headquarters in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Trading of industrial cheeses on a global scale
- Managing and expanding a portfolio of strong long-term relationships with buyers and suppliers internationally to whom you will have to travel 10-20% of your time.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and brokers in order to keep a 360 view on dairy – and more specifically cheese - market developments
- Collaborating closely with colleagues to share market insights, increase opportunity development and optimally coordinate the business end-to-end
- Managing positions and performing risk analyses on assigned portfolios
- Supporting the trading team to optimize commercial impact.
The role will report to the Commercial Director Cheese, based in Arnhem.
Job requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 5 years of proven track-record in cheese and/or butter within the B2 B or B2 C sector
- Fluency in English and preferably Spanish, German or Polish
- Value creation driveness, leaving no stone unturned to optimize margins
- The ability to develop strong and sustainable relationships within the industry
- The ability to develop new opportunities into concrete business opportunities
- Numerically strong and strategically skilled
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to and leverage with global cultures
- Strong understanding of trade risk and regulations
- The ability to work constructively with other departments to optimize the quality of trade and services where needed.
